Young politicians have criticised the ‘youth-centered’ N$ 61.6 billion 2022/23 budget tabled last week, saying it does not solve the country’s youth unemployment, which stands at 50 percent. Speaking to the Namibia Press Agency, Popular Democratic Movement Youth League spokesperson Maximalliant Katjimune said the national budget failed to address the biggest threat to young people which is unemployment. Swapo Youth League leader Ephraim Nekongo meanwhile said the Namibian youth face many challenges such as unemployment, access to funding for young entrepreneurs, and education.
