Due Namibia having received heavy rains, in it’s very first year of having been inaugurated, the Neckartal Dam has started to flow over the wall, with NamWater spokesperson John Shiguedha explaining to Future Media News that the dam is 99.30 per cent full while the Naute Dam’s sluices have been opened, to reduce the dam’s level to 98% as well as to control the volume of water that will flow through the Fish River Canyon.
