Nestlé South Africa is recalling some of its Kit Kat chocolate bars due to the possibility that they may contain glass pieces. The company insisted that while “to date, [they] have not received any complaints or reported injuries, [they] are taking [the] action out of an abundance of caution having discovered the presence of small pieces of glass during … quality and safety checks”. The products affected by the recall are the Nestlé Kit Kat 2 Finger Milk 36x20g bars as well as packs of Kit Kat Mini Milk bags 32x200g with no other sizes or other Kit Kat products affected. The company urged “consumers who may have purchased the products … not [to] consume them but … instead return them to the place where they were purchased, for a full refund”. Nestlé South Africa said it is currently investigating what went wrong.
