Speaker of the National Assembly, Peter Katjavivi, on Wednesday said no Namibian citizens live in the northern part of Mozambique, where dozens of people were reportedly killed during attacks by armed militants. Also commenting on the situation, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah said the political instability and attacks in that country are an ongoing concern not only for Namibia, but also on a regional level. The Namibia press agency quotes her as telling Members of Parliament that Namibia as part of SADC is ready to offer assistance to Mozambique.
