South Africa’s National Prosecuting Authority has applauded former VBS chief financial officer Philip Truter for agreeing to testify against his co-accused in the two-billion-rand fraud case. Truter, who pleaded guilty to six counts of fraud, corruption, money laundering, and racketeering related to the Limpopo-based bank, secured a reduction in his jail sentence to ten years, of which three have been suspended.
