The Namibian Police Force in the Ohangwena Region recorded 755 gender-based violence cases between January 2020 and February 2021. The Namibia Press Agency reports that Commissioner Elizabeth Sibolile, during a belated commemoration of International Women’s Day at Eenhana on Saturday stressed that although GBV is experienced throughout Namibia, it is a concern in Ohangwena. She pointed out that cases such as murder, rape, human trafficking, assault by threat and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm have also become a problem in the region.
