Project Never Walk Alone recently distributed school shoes to 1 155 children from different schools in the Kavango East Region, which founder, Tim Ekandjo, says is the fifth region to benefit from the initiative’s efforts. Explaining that, according to project statistics, over 70 000 Namibian children go barefoot every day, Ekandjo said the non-governmental organisation had so far also distributed 970 pairs of shoes in the Hardap Region, 1 291 pairs in the Omaheke Region, 350 in the Khomas Region, and 1 058 in the Erongo Region.
