Nampa reports that the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, and Employment Creation recorded 11 210 retrenchments between April 2020 to March 2021, its quarterly report has indicated. The report for January to March 2021 highlighted that of the 11 210 retracements, 955 were recorded between January to March 2021. It said the number of retrenchments has been on an increase since COVID-19 and it is for this reason, among others that the Ministry together with the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) planned to embark on a Survey to determine the impact of COVID-19 on the Labour Force.
