The Namibian Police, through the first phase of Operation Basidi which ran from 18 to 20 May, conducted 153 awareness campaigns on, among other things, GBV, Domestic Violence, Child Labour, Baby Dumping, and online child sexual abuse and exploitation. Some of the achievements of the operation include 26 warrants of arrest issued on GBV related crimes, 8 protection orders served, and 4 warnings delivered for child neglect. Twelve social responsibility campaigns were also carried out, including the donation of clothes, bedding, baby formula, and food to persons in need, inmates in holding cells, disabled, and vulnerable people.
