Member of NamPol’s Protected Resources Unit, Salatiel Simon, who is accused of the alleged theft of a rhino horn while under his care, has resigned. The Namibia Press Agency reports that Head of the PRU Barry De Klerk revealed that the accused resigned on 19 October 2022, citing personal reasons and that his last working day is 01 November 2022. It is alleged that Simon was given six rhino horns for safe keeping and he only booked in five at the Otjiwarongo Police Station. The alleged missing horn has an estimated value of N$ 96 000.
