Sealing support from the Eastern Cape ANC for a second term, ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa said that that those who had lost out should be embraced, with no purging of opponents. “The ANC should be united. We must do so regardless of what our leadership preferences are. If we came divided, if you came with factions, all differences must now melt away and disappear,” Ramaphosa said. Ramaphosa further added that factionalism and internal disputes would worsen the decline of the ANC.
