The Ministry of Mines and Energy has announced that the price of fuel will remain unchanged for the month of May. This, the Ministry said, is due to oil prices having suddenly stabilized after a continuous increase for nearly five months in a row. Furthermore the exchange rate, they said, has seen an appreciation of the N$ against the US$ which contributed to the price stabilization during the month of April. The Ministry recorded an under-recovery of 38 cents on petrol and an over-recovery of 14 cents on diesel and these being low guided them in their decision.
