Swapo’s blatant disregard to input by opposition parties in the National Assembly over the years led to the demise of the now cash-strapped Air Namibia, Rally for Democracy (RDP) president Mike Kavekotora has said. Nampa reports that he was commenting on the government’s decision to voluntarily liquidate Air Namibia in the National Assembly on Tuesday. According to Kavekotora, opposition leaders have consistently warned the government about its perceived meddling in affairs of the airline, dangers of political appointees (boards and executives), and “throwing money into a bottomless pit”. But their warnings fell on deaf ears.
