The Namibia Red Cross Society has dedicated an estimated amount of N$ 6 million to assist government in curbing the spread of the pandemic through its COVID-19 school awareness campaign. NRCS Health and Social-National Coordinator, Willemina Gaoses explained to the Namibia press agency that the campaign aims to educate learners, staff and school employees in frequent hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette, appropriate mask use, recognising COVID-19 symptoms and knowing what to do when getting sick. The Red Cross society will also be donating 70 handwashing booths to the ministry of health and social services to be distributed to selected schools throughout the country, plus face masks and sanitisers.
