The second wave outbreak of red Migratory Locust in Namibia is more severe than the first, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform. The most effective method of control under current circumstances is aerial spraying and to this end the Ministry has ordered a biological pesticide, which is environmentally acceptable and approved for aerial application, but supplies are limited as it is in high demand by several African countries where severe outbreaks of locusts are currently being experienced.
