The Roads Authority has issued an update on many of the roads that were damaged by recent heavy rains. Repair work on the Ugab bridge between Uis and Khorixas, they said, is currently underway and the road is presently passable with 4×4 Vehicles only. The Skelm River Bridge between Palmwag and Sesfontein has been closed while repair work is being undertaken but the rest of the road is passable with all vehicles, while road damages and wash-aways between Khorixas and Palmwag have been repaired and the road is now passable with all vehicles. In the south of the country, the Aussenkehr-Rosh Pinah road is still closed but the Rosh Pinah-Oranjemund road is open to traffic and the RA is currently attending to the road shoulders.
