The DA says it is concerned by the upward trend in farm attacks and violent crimes in the Eastern Cape. Newsflash reports that DA member of the Legislature, Bobbe Stevenson, says there have been 21 farm attacks from January to March this year compared to eleven for the same period last year. He believes the attacks combined with high stock theft figures could potentially cripple the agricultural sector. Stevenson says the 21.5-percent increase in provincial murders is a sign that violent crime is not subsiding.
