A 27 year-old ranger from Thornybush River Lodge, a 14 000 hectare private reserve that shares a fenceless boundary with South Africa’s famous Kruger National Park was pierced and trampled by an elephant cow during a boundary patrol. Newsflash reports that according to the chief warden, Trevor Jordan, Sheldon Hooper, and another ranger were checking a fence when an elephant cow rushed at him. Hooper was a familiar face on the Safari Live channel and presenter, James Hendry, honoured him with a tribute.
