South Africa’s Minister of Agriculture, Thoko Didiza has lifted a nationwide ban on the movement of cattle. The ban prohibited farmers from moving cattle after an outbreak of foot and mouth disease. Chief Veterinary Officer in the Namibian Ministry of Agriculture Dr. Albertina Shilongo, says they will continue to monitor the situation until the issue of foot-and-mouth disease is under control.
