South African airline operator Comair has cancelled all British Airways and Kulula flights in the country leaving a reported 3,000 travellers stranded. The announcement was made on the day that record fuel prices came into effect, despite the government’s extension of a fuel levy reduction. According to the BBC, angry customers say Comair offered specials and accepted bookings just hours before announcing the suspension. The firm says it has been affected by the coronavirus-related travel restrictions and the recent increase in fuel prices due to the Ukraine-Russian war.
