The warring South African Broadcasting Corporation board is set to be summoned to appear before Parliament to account for the crisis that has gripped the public broadcaster in recent months, and which, experts warn, could plunge the organisation deeper into disarray. City Press reports that, should Parliament’s communications portfolio committee deem the toxic divisions within the board beyond repair, it will recommend its dissolution which could take the recovery of the SABC – which has experienced more than a decade of governance and corporate instability that left it begging for billions in government bailouts – into reverse mode.
