The section 59 interim report released by Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi, shows that the Government Employees Medical Scheme, Discovery, and Medscheme racially discriminated against black medical practitioners. The report, Newsflash reports, was instituted on behalf of the Medical Aid Schemes Council which oversees the conduct of medical aid schemes in South Africa. Ngcukaitobi says the report found that Discovery was 35-percent more likely to discriminate against black medical practitioners, GEMS was 80-percent more likely and Medscheme was 330-percent more likely without proof.
