A new Solar Power Industry Jobs Report states that between 11-thousand and 13-thousand permanent jobs could be created in South Africa by 2030 to prepare, develop and build domestic solar projects. Meanwhile, as reported earlier, the planned Mega Solar Project, a partnership between the Governments of Namibia and Botswana, has been selected as an outcome following US President Joe Biden’s virtual Leaders Summit on Climate. The project, once completed will generate up to five gigawatts of solar power and avoid an estimated 6.5 million tons of CO2 annually – the equivalent of taking almost 1.5 million cars off the road.
