In what may be seen as a threat to Namibia’s Green Hydrogen ambitions, a green hydrogen project in Prieska, in South Africa’s Northern Cape, has secured project development funding through a partnership with the Industrial Development Corporation. Fin24 reports that the first phase of the project, which is expected to produce 12 900 tons of green hydrogen from 2025, escalating to over 500 000 by 2030, has already completed chemical plant, wind, solar and micro-grid feasibility studies, while technical design work is also being finalised.
