With the South African economy showing signs of stability, government will now shift its focus from relief measures to implementing a recovery plan, President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Wednesday night as he announced the extension of the national state of disaster by another month, to December 15, 2020. Times Live reports that Rampahosa said on Wednesday that as long as all South Africans did their part, moving to stricter lockdown levels would not be necessary, urging the country to unite to prevent the virus spreading, and to follow health guidelines including wearing masks, sanitising and physical distancing.
