South Africa’s Minister of Home Affairs, Aaron Motsoaledi says government is working on legislation that would limit the number of foreigners employed by South African Industries and that they are doing so with the assistance and advice from global institutions like the International Labour Organisation. This, the SABC reports, after government last month promised to crack down on employers who hire foreign truck drivers instead of South Africans in order to circumvent the country’s labour laws and following a strike by local truck drivers who blockaded highways to protest against the practice.
