With campaigning happening in full force, Independent Patriot for Change candidate for the upcoming Swakopmund by-elections, and current Swakopmund mayor, Louisa Kativa, says that once elected as constituency councillor she will advocate for the construction of a Health Centre, closer to the people. She also said she will deal with the shortage of schools in the town, and bashed critics who are questioning what she has achieved as the town’s current mayor, saying she facilitated the completion of several projects at the town. Swapo Party Vice President, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, meanwhile says the party is ready to ‘take back the town, and assured followers of their readiness to deliver much-needed services to the people of Swakopmund and the Erongo Region in general.
