Landless People’s Movement leader Bernadus Swartbooi has taken a swipe at defence minister, Peter Vilho, for accusing white people of being greedy despite controlling 70 per cent of Namibia’s economy. The Namibia press agency quotes Swartbooi as describing Vilho’s remarks as an “uncouth missive, laden with extreme vanity and arrogance, which borders on insecurity laced with self-pity.” “Take your hands off white Namibians, they don’t owe you anything! You are of the view that you will gain black solidarity through white hatred – you’re wrong,” Swartbooi told Vilho, insisting that the Namibian Government and by extension, the ruling party, are not beyond reproach.
