For the fourth year in a row Cape Town’s iconic Table Mountain has been voted as Africa’s leading tourist attraction by the World Travel Awards. Business Insider reports that Cape Town itself has also been named Africa’s leading city destination and its airport voted as the continent’s best. Table Mountain beat out the likes of Mountain Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, and the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, while two other local favourites – Robben Island and the V&A Waterfront – were also runners up. Luxury travel company &Beyond, which owns and operates the Sossusvlei Desert Lodge in Namibia as well as various other properties across the world, won Africa’s Leading Game Reserve Brand for the second year in a row.
