India’s wheat export ban has trapped some 1.8 million tonnes of grain at ports – leaving traders and wheat importing countries in a lurch. Ishan Garg reports that India had earlier planned to export 10 million tonnes of wheat this year but a crippling heatwave and rising domestic prices of wheat have forced authorities to make a U-turn.
