The Transnet strike continues as talks between unions and the entity drag on. eNCA reports that the employer has tabled a new offer between 4.25 percent to 5 percent across the board. But it was rejected with the workers standing by their demand for a wage increase of between 12 and 13 percent. Business lobby groups have meanwhile warned that disruptions from the Transnet strike could be as bad as load shedding and worse than the Covid-19 lockdown.
