The UK’s first deportation flight to Rwanda is due to take off later. It’s thought only a handful of asylum seekers will be on board due to legal challenges. The UK and Rwanda reached a deal that London says will break the business model of people traffickers. But senior Church of England bishops has condemned it as ‘immoral’. And the head of the UN refugee agency has also condemned plans by Britain to send the first flight of asylum seekers to Rwanda on Tuesday. Foreign Secretary Liz Truss says it’s necessary.
