UN chief Antonio Guterres is in Pakistan to launch funding efforts following floods that are estimated to have cost the country $30bn in damage. The move comes in spite of international sanctions and offers of economic aid in exchange for nuclear disarmament. Around 1,400 people died and half a million were left homeless, with the government saying a third of the population has been impacted.
