Due to insufficient funding, the UN Refugee Agency is unable to adequately respond to the rising humanitarian needs of refugees and internally displaced people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The DRC is among the most underfunded of UNHCR’s operations worldwide. As of 30 June 2022, only 19 percent of the US$225 million budget at the start of the year has been secured.
