The US Food and Drug Administration has announced a new strategy to try to stretch the country’s short supply of monkeypox vaccines. Health providers will now be able to split doses, in the hopes of vaccinating up to five times as many people against the virus. This, Gabrielle Fahmy reports, after the country has become the global epicenter of the outbreak, with close to 9000 known cases as of Tuesday, and no sign of slowing.
