Oshikoto Governor, Penda Ya Ndakolo on Wednesday expressed concern at still seeing thousands of people in the rural areas of the region surviving on dirty water. This he attributed to the low pressure in the water pipelines found in those areas, saying that while a few boreholes were drilled in 2021 and some rehabilitated these water supply efforts are still not enough for the affected constituencies as the water points there are shared between people and livestock. The Governor, at the same time, bemoaned the fact that most of the criminal activities which were recorded by the police in the Oshikoto Region had a human element, fuelled by the abuse of alcohol and negligence.
